Regional Overview. A new edition of @gtfashionweek was held. The platform plays a key role in promoting Central American fashion, presenting proposals that link trends with the cultural and social context.
The event featured the participation of various brands and talents. @almacenessiman_gt opened the show with its selection of essential pieces. Then, renowned Guatemalan designer @eduardofigueroaoficial presented Resort 26, a collection that highlighted translucent textiles, prints, and soft colors.
@jaspebyvitto brought Raíz Futura to the runway. The proposal reflected on the value of ancestral techniques applied to contemporary design. Along these lines, traditional Guatemalan fabrics were reinterpreted in various pieces. The event also featured collaborations with artisans from Sololá, Sacatepéquez, and Chiquimula.
This edition featured the return of @mynorvelizb with a collection titled Samsara, defined by its use of sheer fabric and exposed seams. The closing collection was Panamanian designer @zunildagutierrezm, an international guest thanks to her partnership with @fashionweekpty. Portobelo, her proposal for the season, drew on the Caribbean city's Afro-descendant heritage.
